Walking the back streets of Shanghai is an adventure for any foodie. The street food here is amazing, full of colour and texture and all sorts of unusual ingredients, techniques and smells. Particularly impressive are the steamed dumplings. The beauty of the steamers creates a visual feast and the warm, sweet scent on a cold day is simply mouthwatering.
The Island… Located right in the middle the busy Gold Coast precinct of Surfers Paradise, The Island is well placed for a fabulous overnight getaway when some Mad Men style decor, a cocktail and some retro-feeling poolside action is needed….
If you wish to stay on the water and feel part of the energetic action that is happening in the renovated old wharf precinct of Sydney, then it is hard to beat Pier One Autograph Collection. Look out across the harbour and watch the ferries, super yachts and fishing vessels making their way on the harbour and across the way the local guys are set up on the adjoining wharf throwing a line in, morning and night.
Elegant and sophisticated and very abundant in space and roominess, she is certainly a beautiful craft. This 40 meter lady somehow feels even larger than other vessels this size and all I have been lucky to experience feel pretty generous.
The tropical waters sparkle beneath the wings as the private jet comes into land expertly on the runway edged by coral reefs and lush forest, I am welcomed by the beautiful notes of a Fijian welcome song and handed a coconut of fresh, sweet and cool coconut milk, sipped through a papaya stem straw it is so delicious.
